Chris Reed

Chris Reed
Chief Executive Officer
Chris Reed has more than 15 years of retail real estate experience and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in July 2024, previously serving as the company’s Chief Investment Officer from October 2021 to June 2024. He leads ShopOne’s Investment Committee while overseeing the company’s strategic direction, investment, and capital-raising activities. He has completed over $2 billion in acquisition, disposition, debt financing, and strategic joint venture transactions.
Before joining ShopOne, he spent more than 5 years at Brixmor Property Group, leading the company's acquisition and disposition strategy in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
Mr. Reed received a BBA in Finance from Temple University and an MBA from Villanova University, with concentrations in Real Estate & Finance.

Mike Makinen
President and COO
Mike Makinen serves as President and Chief Operating Officer at ShopOne, responsible for overseeing the Company’s operations and financial performance, including the execution of its strategic priorities.
Mr. Makinen has more than 25-years of industry experience, and serves as Co-Chair, Open Air Centers Committee for The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Prior to joining ShopOne, Mr. Makinen served as Chief Operating Officer at SITE Centers, where he was responsible for the operations and financial results of the company’s portfolio as well as the external management of Retail Value Inc. Mr. Makinen also served as Chief Operating Officer for Equity One, Inc. and Olshan Properties, Inc. In his career, he held leadership positions at United Retail Group – Avenue Stores, Linens ‘n Things, Inc., Thompson Associate, Inc. and Howard L. Green and Associates, Inc.
Mr. Makinen holds a BS from Michigan State University and holds a Master of Arts from Indiana University. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Starlite Media LLC.

Joseph LoParrino, CPA serves ShopOne as the Chief Financial Officer. LoParrino joined ShopOne in June 2018 as Chief Accounting Officer, responsible for directing all accounting functions.
LoParrino has spent over 25 years in both the public and private accounting sectors, with a deep focus on real estate. Mr. LoParrino joins ShopOne from AmTrust Realty Corp., where he spent the past two years serving as Vice President of Finance. Prior to AmTrust, LoParrino spent time in senior accounting and financial roles with prominent public REITs and real estate companies, including New Plan Excel Realty Trust, Urstadt Biddle and Retail Opportunity Investments Corp. He spent close to a decade at Urstadt Biddle Properties and also held notable positions at Seneca Mortgage, United Realty Advisors and Monday Properties.
Mr. LoParrino holds a BA in Accounting and Economics from Queens College, City University of New York.

Tom Shine serves as the Senior Vice President of Property Management. He oversees all property management functions at ShopOne.
Shine possesses over 32 years of experience in commercial real estate, joined ShopOne at its founding in 2017. Previously, Mr. Shine served as Director of Property Management at Devonshire REIT. He began his career as the operations manager for a single mall and has held operations positions at every level including Regional Director for Kimco Realty. Over the course of his career, Mr. Shine has managed properties throughout the United States including both coasts and the Midwest encompassing over 19 million square feet.
Mr. Shine holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Kent State University.

Jack Ventimiglia
Vice President, Construction
Jack Ventimiglia serves as the Vice President of Construction for ShopOne, where he oversees construction on redevelopments, out-lot parcels and new store fit-outs.
Prior to his role at ShopOne Centers, Jack served as a Construction Project Manager for Shinola. Ventimiglia has over 12 years of REIT and Retail Construction experience, having previously served as a Project Manager for Brixmor Property Group, one of the largest Shopping Center REITS in the industry.
Mr. Ventimiglia holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Lawrence Technological University.

Matt Yaniglos serves as the Senior Vice President of Leasing for ShopOne, where he oversees all leasing functions for the company. Mr. Yaniglos joined ShopOne at its founding, in 2017, as Senior Vice President of Anchor Leasing.
Mr. Yaniglos has more than 25 years of real estate experience. Prior to joining the company, as a broker, he completed over 250 leasing transactions, providing him valuable REIT experience with Kimco Realty, RPAI, Inland Group, and Equity One (now Regency). Mr. Yaniglos has held a membership with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) since 2003. He holds several industry designations through ICSC, including Certified Design, Development, and Construction Professional (CDP), Certified Leasing Specialist (CLS), and the CRX (Certified Real Estate Property Executive) designation.
Mr. Yaniglos holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Technology from University of Toledo.

Vice President, Lease Administration & Legal
Lisa Alexander serves as the Vice President of Lease Administration & Legal for ShopOne, responsible for overseeing the Company’s lease administration, lease compliance and collection related legal functions. Ms. Alexander joined ShopOne at its founding, in 2017.
Ms. Alexander has 25 years’ experience as a paralegal in Chapter 11 and 7 Bankruptcy, court appointed receiverships, and asset management and consulting. Prior to her role at ShopOne, Ms. Alexander served as Manager of Lease Administration for Devonshire REIT. Over the course of her career, Ms. Alexander was a realtor and managed operations for Graham White & Associates Commercial Real Estate & Asset Management Group.
Ms. Alexander holds a Bachelor of Science in Independent Studies with concentration in Business and Human Resource Management and has an Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies, both from the University of Toledo.
Kurt Pollex

Kurt Pollex currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Services at ShopOne. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of human resources and technology for the organization.
With over 20 years of retail real estate industry experience, Kurt joined ShopOne at its founding in July 2017 as Vice President of Corporate Services. Mr. Pollex was hired at Devonshire REIT in April 2015 and served as the Manager of Research & Information for over two years. Kurt also worked as a retail broker with CBRE/Reichle Klein Group for approximately 10 years as a licensed Real Estate Salesperson in Ohio and Michigan. In past roles, he has served as a Marketing Director with Westfield Corporation and as Customer Relations Manager with the NBA’s Phoenix Suns.
Mr. Pollex has a BBA in finance from the University of Toledo and an MBA from Arizona State University.

Vice President, Finance
Michael Price serves as the Vice President of Finance at ShopOne. In this role, he is responsible for the forecasting, capital planning and financing for the organization’s investments. Mr. Price joined ShopOne in 2018 as an analyst.
Previously, he served as an analyst for AIG on the Commercial Mortgage Loan team. With over 10 years of real estate industry experience, Mr. Price has prior roles working for both real estate operators and debt providers.
Mr. Price holds a BS in Finance from the University of Connecticut.

Luc Joseph is Vice President of Investments at ShopOne. He is responsible for overseeing the Company’s national acquisition and disposition activity including sourcing, evaluating, and executing single-asset and portfolio transactions. Notably, Mr. Joseph has led ShopOne’s expansion efforts into key Southeastern markets including Atlanta, Raleigh, and Miami.
Before joining ShopOne in 2022, he worked at Berkeley Capital Advisors, a boutique retail investment sales firm in Charlotte, NC, where he facilitated over 50 shopping center transactions and nearly $900mm in sales volume over 3 years.
Mr. Joseph received a BBA in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and holds a Master of Real Estate Development from Clemson University.

Executive Chairman
John B. Roche is ShopOne’s Executive Chairman. Roche served as CEO for over four years prior to assuming the role of Executive Chairman. Prior to his role as CEO, John served as the company’s CFO for 2 years.
Beginning at KPMG and Kenneth Leventhal & Co., Mr. Roche worked for several real estate companies including Robert Martin, Emmes and the Related Companies, eventually joining New Plan Excel Realty Trust. John then joined SL Green’s Gramercy Capital Corp. to assist with the acquisition of American Financial Corp. and was hired as the company’s CFO on a transitional basis. Roche worked with NRDC Acquisition Corp., in converting the Special Purpose Acquisition Company into Retail Opportunity Investments Corp., a NASDAQ listed REIT.
Mr. Roche holds an MBA from the Columbia Business School and a BA in Accounting from Queens College, City University of New York.
Jim Sylvia

Jim Sylvia

Mr. Sylvia has served as an Independent Director on ShopOne’s Board of Directors since 2019.
He spent over 23 years at Ahold USA, where he most recently served as Real Estate and Development Officer. In his role with Ahold, Mr. Sylvia led major supermarket chain acquisitions and managed Ahold’s real estate portfolio of over 60 million square feet of commercial space. He has held leadership roles within the International Council of Shopping Centers and has been featured as a guest lecturer at the Harvard Business School and Yale School of Management.
