ShopOne Boasts Strong Leasing Momentum for The Plaza at Chapel Hill in Akron, Ohio
New York (Business Wire) - ShopOne Centers REIT Inc., (“ShopOne” or the “Company”), a leading owner, operator and manager of high-quality grocery-anchored shopping centers, today announced leasing updates for The Plaza at Chapel Hill, a 458,935 square-foot shopping center located in Akron, Ohio. The Company welcomed the opening of Northeast Ohio’s first Ross Dress for Less on October 12th, joining Citi Trends as the second nationally recognized retailer to open at the shopping center this year. ShopOne is also pleased to announce additional new leasing activity with Dollar Tree, America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses (“America’s Best”) and Arby’s. Dollar Tree and Arby’s are expected to open in early November in time for the busy holiday shopping season, while America’s Best will open in early 2020.
“Akron boasts a strong business climate and is one of the fastest growing large cities in Ohio, and as evidenced by our strong retailer lineup and continued leasing demand at The Plaza at Chapel Hill, continues to be a draw for best-in-class brands like Ross Dress for Less and the other national retailers we have welcomed into the center,” said Bob Dake, Executive Vice President of Leasing at ShopOne. “We are extremely excited to add these high-quality retailers to our merchandising mix and believe they will continue to broaden the appeal of the shopping center from customers all throughout the Cleveland MSA.”
The Plaza at Chapel Hill is located at the heavily traveled intersection of Howe Avenue and Main Street, and is less than a 20 minute drive from many of the area’s demand generators including the Akron Children’s Hospital, Summa Health, University of Akron, Canal Park, home to the Eastern League’s Akron RubberDucks, and Bounce Innovation Hub, the region’s first open innovation hub serving northeast Ohio’s entrepreneurial and innovation community. Core tenants at the property include Giant Eagle, Dick’s Sporting Goods, T.J. Maxx, Ross Dress for Less, and Burlington.
